Amazing writing lessons for your homeschooler

Rabbit Trails has always been about amazing literature. Beautiful, award winning, classic, wonderfully illustrated books are a part of every single curriculum we put out. This got us thinking, “What if we can feature these amazing books in a different way? How can we include author studies in Rabbit Trails?” We also saw our children struggle with one single subject: writing. How can we encourage them to love this part of their homeschool journey? To not dread writing, but actually look forward to it? Rabbit Trails through Writing was the answer!

By using Rabbit Trails through Writing, your child will explore author and illustrator studies from award winning titles, gorgeous book suggestions, copywork, fun hands on activities, and month long writing projects to take them even further down the Rabbit Trail. Each writing lesson will include a brainstorming activity and multi-step writing activity.

That’s not all. Every lesson also includes a full Bible study to compliment the lesson that includes writing prompts, bringing two subjects together in a beautiful way. The very best part is that you don’t need to purchase these books every month if you don’t want to! There will be a read aloud video of the main book that goes along with the lesson, too.

How does Rabbit Trails through Writing work?

There are 8 different Volumes of Rabbit Trails through Writing to choose from: 4 Fall Volumes and 4 Spring Volumes. Each of these contain 6 months worth of themed writing lessons and Bible studies that are perfect to go along with each season. If you are familiar with our previous Writing Membership, Journey Down the Rabbit Trail, each of these Volumes are filled with former Membership lessons.

What is included in Rabbit Trails through Writing?

Each Volume of Rabbit Trails through Writing includes:

-6 Rabbit Trails through Writing lessons, each about one author or illustrator. Each lesson will include brainstorming ideas and a writing project for your children to work through.
-6 coordinating Bible studies with memory verse cards. These also include writing prompts to work on throughout each month.
-A video read aloud of the main book for each lesson.

What about a sample schedule? I created Rabbit Trails through Writing to not have any boxes to check- I want homeschool families to make Rabbit Trails fit into their everyday lives without stressing about what lesson needs to be done each day. However, I know some people like to have a lesson all laid out for them so they can envision how the curriculum will fit into their homeschool. I have included a calendar that shows a sample schedule for one lesson to give you an idea of how I personally lay out the lessons in my own homeschool over the course of one month.
